All, Just sharing a few miscellaneous pieces that I was bound and determined to finish since my club's show is next weekend (if interested in attending, here is a link with info...I even think there may be a few tables left!.. WOODCARVING & WILDLIFE ART SHOW ). A few weeks back, I was looking at these and several other unfinished projects I had in my workshop. So, I made a final push to get as many done in time for the October 25 and 26 Conewago Carvers show in East Berlin, PA. Although I did not get everything done, I did get the majority completed! First carving is a Gnome house done in Cottonwood bark. Pretty common design for cottonwood bark carving, however, this was my first attempt and I would recommend to all that if you have a chance to try this, you will not regret the opportunity. Fox Chapel also publishes a very nice book on this topic, add it to your library. Second piece is a relief carving of Jessica Rabbit from the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The piece is about half an inch thick. I like playing with the perspective to give almost a three dimensional look if viewed from the front. The final piece is a pair of Santa's holding a reindeer. This pattern was designed by Dave Sabol and should be very familiar to all of the WCI folks since the original piece was on the cover of the first issue of WCI and is also on the cover of a recently published Fox Chapel book---which I would also recommend purchasing. Anyway, just sharing, and if you happen to come to the show, stop by and say "hi". Gary |

Very nice work! I particularly like the Sabol Santas. Those look hard to do. They are dead ringers for Davids. Corey
