Default coast to coast and heart to heart trade

Keoma and I have decided to share this with others.

I admired her carved Mt. Man on her etsy site, and commented on it. She in turn contacted me and asked if I would be interested in a trade. I jumped on that, so the pictures following are the trade that will be shipped from Georgia to California and California to Georgia.

We're excited and hope it inspires some trades on the board.

The holes are for Keoma to dangle tokens and keep sakes from. The holes at the top are to hang it from.
There is symbolism in it for her....the willow tree is for her business...Willow the Wisp, the tree spirit for her carvings, the two seedlings for her young sons, the vessel to symbolize being a woman. The controlled fire represents her husband, the firefighter (those are his and her initials carved in the heart in the tree). The sun and the flame over the goddess ties her warmth and compassion from the sun to the earth.
The moon phases are all about women too, and I just like them.

She will load images of her Mt. Man for you to see as well....good trade!

Christina

Hi Christina,

Colin Partridge and I did the very same thing about a year ago. We traded or exchanged, woodspirits through the mail. Your trade by the way looks really nice. Look forward to see Keoma's.

Hi Christina,

That is a truly wonderful carving and the way you described it, the symbols suits Keoma to a T.

Great job.

Ok ya'll! I am so thrilled to have this as the forefront at all my fairs. It will also hang in my home when I am not showing it off to others. I am so touched by every small detail and thought you added. You can really pull at the heart strings.
So here is the Mountain man. He is one of the 2 men I ever made. This one is super special to me and I love him. I was so thrilled that someone whom I really admire was interested in him.
He is jointed at the hips, knees, elbows, wrists and neck. He has a black walnut cowboy hat and caulked boots. In his basket (that I made out of Oak dowels and Ivy Vines) There is 2 toy soldiers, a little jointed dolly and a Christmas tree. Some of ya'll might recognize him from the crappy picture I sent to the Santa Carving Challenge, it was the super grainy out of focus picture...HA! I also showed a small video on staining wood with food coloring...that was his tree. OH! I almost forgot, his axe! It is a hung axe...no glue...just like they do a real axe...get it wet and it swells into the hole. It also says Bailey's on the handle...of course!
He is a Mountain Man, A logger and a real santa clause...in spirit. OH! he also has a small carved red cardinal that sits in his hand or at his feet. A real man of the woods!

Keoma, your Mountain Man is wonderful and a man for all seasons. You are so creative and a true daughter of Mother Nature.
