Howard, those are two great studies!!! Looks like you've got the hand of carving folds. I've never carved yellow cedar, but I have carved the red stuff to some extent. I found myself smelling it more than carving though. That stuff is great!!! They should make perfume or airfresheners out of that stuff.

Great folds. That is one of the things I have the most trouble with. I am working to try and learn to do folds in clothing and other thins I want to carve.

Thank you all for your very kind response ,,, I have been practicing and practicing the folds in clothing and getting that right has proven to be much more of a challenge though I think the Plasticine modeling has helped a lot and is easier to figure out that way,,, as well as being fun to play with,,, Cheers Howard
