I wasn't sure if I should post this question here, or in tools....but figured more folks might see it here. I just finished carving and as I was putting up the tools I noticed that my carving glove is pretty dirty. It is one of the woven, yellow ones that you see at most every vendor's display, and while they aren't exorbitantly expensive, they ain't cheap either. I was wondering if you can safely wash the glove, and if so...how do you wash yours? Hand wash with Woolite, throw it in with the regular laundry in the machine??? Other method?? If you have experience in this area, please let me know how it worked out because I would really like to clean this glove to keep my carvings "less soiled" a I work on them. Thanks for your input. if your glove is kevlar, which i guess it is, dont let it anywhere near water. bullet proof vests are made of kevlar and if they get wet they are useless. even from normal wear, perspiration, humidity etc they deteriorate.

That's very interesting Rick...I never new that! I don't think I would was the glove anyway. Carving gloves are like fine wine...they get better with age!

i have to agree with rick about the water. I'm a deputy and wear a bullet proof vest, the lable has a HUGH warning do not wash? the life span is only 5 years with normal wear. as far as your glove, i have bought a white cotton glove to place over my carving glove when i'm doing detail work on a pcs than i dont want to paint and therefre don't wash. hope this helps and hope my answer isnt to hard to follow.
