Default this christmas swap

okay - grrrrr

I am sitting here drooling and being very envious - I thought I was too much a a new carver to ever be able to participate, but just seeing what some wrote certainly gives encouragement - "we love the ones from beginners as well as experienced carvers" , "I'm not too far from from beginner but I think every carver knows that what we lack in skill we make up for in heart

and someone actually called me as asked if I would make them a newel post finial - imagine -me -

so where do I sign up for next year - and I'll have a whole year to practice and produce - lol

Hi Ho Sliver is the one who organizes the Christmas Ornament Swaps. I have done it before and its worth it, I received some really nice carvings.

laine,
I'd say check and see if you can do this year. I'm a newby (only carving since April) and jumped in wondering what I got myself into when I got the names, but it's been fun. I hope to have all mine carved this weekend and then painted and ready to mail next weekend. For myself one more would just give me more practice and I wouldn't mind doing it. I have seen some improvement in my carving doing this.

Jim

Hi All,
I second the 3 cheers for Hi Ho.

Also Jim, I am a new carver as well. I did sign up for the swap and am busily working on my ornaments as I receive inspiration daily (almost) in the mail.

It is a blast.

All the best.

Chris
