Default Christmas for the kids

Well I'm almost finished with the carvings for the kids. I carved the dragon head for my oldest son, the monk for my oldest daughter. My youngest daughter will get the griffin and youngest son the wizard. Only have to finish painting the wizard and the griffin.

Wow, those will be family heirlooms for sure. I love the Griffin. May I ask what wood the monk is made from?

The Monk is Butternut, a friend gave it to me a couple years ago and until I started carving I had no idea what I was going to do with it.
