Default Christmas in July 2005

No, I'm not so sick that I don't know the date (that was yesterday)...Before I got sick this weekend, I finished the roughout that Goody sent out LAST year...I know, I know....but here it is!!!

I'm not happy with the face, but...it's the first semi-realistic carving I've ever painted, so...I learned a lot!

Bob, I see a little bit of Colin's woodspirit influence in that little face. Those rough outs are really fun aren't they? Really nice job.

I did a woodspirit too, based on the one Shawn Cipa had in the Woodspirits and greemMen book, but didn't photograph it yet (I want to get some stain on it).

I did get a bit aggressive at removing wood around the cheekbones (Colin can attest to the fervor with which I remove wood <GRIN>) but I learned a lot from that as well!

Nice job Bob, I agree with Thor, I see a bit of 'Colin influence' there too! Thanks for sharing him with us! Deborah

P.S. Hope you're all better!!
