Hello Gang,
If you have been to my Blog/website before you might notice that my site has changed somewhat. I have rebuilt my site and changed my web-host. I will be adding a lot more content in the next few days and would love to have some feedback from y'all as to how you like this site and also what more you would like to see here on this site. I want this to be a place where any carver can come and learn something, and I will be adding content to that end.

Today I have begun my newest feature on my site: "Video carving podcasts". What is that you might ask, well check out my site and I will show you !
I am going to have many different video pod casts including, Interviews with carvers ( local and well known), Tool Reviews, tips and short demos of different styles of carving. I hope to have some novice help video podcasts also, featuring a fellow carver that is one of the best working with new carvers. I also want to occasionally have a Question and answer podcast, where you can send me your questions and I will either answer them myself or find someone who has the answer and post it on the pod cast.
I am very exicited about all this, but to make it work I need your feedback and your questions. So feel free to comment, cirtque, and link to this site if you have one ( I will link back to yours also). Please let other carvers you know online, know that this site is here. Please leave a comment on the site if you go and check it out!

Gary, I found your YouTube vids and the blog today for the first time. I have only been carving for a few months and have a Ramelson palm set. Your Santa video is the most detailed and helpful I have seen as a beginner. I had never seen anyone actually demonstrate gouge use and I have never used my skew because I really didn't know it's purpose. Your method for rounding a nose is interesting as well as all the other good tips. Thanks for posting this information.

I love the carving blog idea! It expect it going to take a lot of your time - so thank you right up front. I think the interview angle will be a great thing to see - perhaps you could also get some of the carving clubs invovled.
One critque - maybe you could lose the head phones and just use a table top microphone.

Thanks for the kind comments bluesteel and also Ken,
The carving club angle is also interesting, I belong to 3 of them, ( Decatur, AL, Huntsville, AL and one in TN. I might have to shoot some footage of the meetings and carvings. I do plan to shoot footage and hopefully some interviews at our local carving show and comp. the first weekend of November in Huntsville.
Ken, I bought the headphones to do interviews on Skype with carvers who are not nearby, and could do them by webcamera and Skype. I plan to get a good desktop mike at some point when I can afford one, they are not cheap.
