Default character or caricatures

I know i've been carcing for a few years and should know the difference but i get confused and if i do mabye some new carvers do. That being said i feel stupid but could someone explain. Feb

Feb .. Caricatures are exagerations of the human form ... The larger head .. the big hands ... the big feet .. the eye's exaggerated .. but some caricatures are more lifelike then others .. Take Marks Santa's .. Their caricature .. but very lifelike in form ..

Sometimes just a little exaggeration compliments the piece ..

As far as character is concerned .. you probably see more of it in caricatures then you do in real life ..
