Default Centerline finder

I have a question regarding a centerline finder? I have seen them mentioned in a few places around the net and in some carving books. Does anybody know where I can obtain one or does someone out there have plans for one? I have not seen a real good picture of one where I could de-engineer it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks alot.
