Default Celtic Knots

Here’s my fun way of using up some scraps in the shop. Carve some Celtic knots. Though designed to worn by the fairer sex at our Renaissance festival the baubles can be used to adorn anything or anyone. I have used Tulip Poplar, Walnut, aromatic cedar, Butternut…just about anything…including Corian. Splitting ¾” stock on the bandsaw is where I often start. I hope you enjoy carving some, too. The ones shown here were carved with a detail knife except for some micro holes drilled to facilitate transferring the Celtic patterns.

Hey Jim, those are some beautiful knots. I'll bet the lasses love them.

Nice little baubles, Jim. Celtic knots are always a cool thing. They look fun to carve.

Yes, Tom, I had them in the kitchen in a plate for a while and several times I was headed to take a nibble when I saw them in the corner of my eye.

At your next beer blast Jim, put some salt crystals on them and see what happens. Aaaahh beer and chips. Too funny.
