Default Cedar Irish Love Spoon

After I saw some of Tn's cedar hanger carvings, I wanted to try my hand at it as well....and chose to carve a cedar Irish Love Spoon. This is my first so be nice. I searched out a pattern in WCI and came across an article by Jim Gledhill from Cobourg, Ont., Canada. I was surprised how well the cedar took detail without chipping. Anyway, thanks Forrest for the idea. The wood is treated with oil which really brought out the red in the cedar.

Excellent job Patrick! Cedar has many moods! Sometimes it's great to carve and other times you just can't get a break. Glad that your project turned out so well!

Patrick, nice design! One thing bothers me....between the top ribbon and the second ribbon on the left side...it seems that it needs just a wee bit of wood removed between the two ribbons to match the other side? nit picking I know, but it seems out of balance to me! otherwise, good design, good job!

Hey Patrick,

What are the measurements of those hangers before being carved?
