Default carvings per year

Iwas wondering, how many of you keep track of every thing you carve. I feel like i've been carving a lot but i've only carved 4 indians 3-8x4x14 1 12x24x5 and like 2 smallcarvins and i'm working 2 small carvings and 1 Elvis 7x14x2 1/2 I'd just like to get an idea on how much other carvers our doing. Thanks

Feb

MA, burning and carving is not the same as playing with matches and knives.

If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert , in five years there'd be a shortage of sand.

I have only been carving for like six weeks and I have finished six carvings(and I use that term loosely).

I had a few months where I did not carve anything but have since gotten in the grove. Let see, 5 Santas, two cowboys, three firemen, a bear, several Flag pins, one a Texas flag, an Australian Flag, several Old Glory flags, two canes, one with and egale head, one with a wolf head. a NA bust, 10 Jayhawker pins and have several ornaments in different stages of completion, another cowboy Santa that I have cut out and roughed out, yep, that is it.

Well - I'll admit to bringing up the rear with a grand total (if I'm remembering correctly) of 1 shelf elf, 1 partially completed relief from Chris Pye's Intro to Relief Carving book, 2 partially completed woodspirit hiking sticks, 1 partially complete TomH 5 min wizard.

Notice the repeating phrase - "partially completed" - I'd like to nominate myself for the "King of incomplete carvings" award. ;-)

Cheers

I have no idea. Some years a lot, others very few.

Well, I have no idea of how many I do, I'm sure it's a lot. Just remember.....quantity is no substitute for quality.

If I'm lucky, I'll get maybe 2 or three a year. Sometimes NONE. I am not a prolific carver.

I started on the 5th of this month. Brand new newbie, and none of the following are really good. They all have faults, but I'm learning.

Day
1) 5 minute wizard from looking at the front page of this website.
2) mortar and pestel for wife, and my mallet
3) The day I got my chisel and oilstone. Box for oilstone and letter opener with a face that looks like the peanut man.
4) knife handle waiting for blade (looks nice and fits my hand), and a woodspirit.
5) started "the guly man" that I got cut on, and has turned into a woman.

being disabled, I have nothing to do, so carving was all I did for those days. hehe

When I get my safety glove, I'll get back to it, probably getting slower as I learn each feature better. still gotta get eyes and hands... They are really messing with me.
