Do you take any magazines? Try ChipChats, Woodcarving Illustrated, the new one carvingmagazine....between them, if you can't find some inspiration, you don't really feel like carving

Sometimes I just wander around the webcarver's web - looking through artists' pages, etc. I've found both good ideas and inspiration around those parts.

Default Showed my donkey to a carver

I finished my carving and showed it to a carving teacher. He told me the things I was doing wrong and where I ran into trouble with the grain. He also told me about painting. I spent two hours talking with him and learned alot but now am needing to learn more so will be signing up for his class the next go round. I also had alot of fun with all the tools he had there but remembered what everyone told me about being careful with tools I picked. So I stuck with the basics. And show alittle restrain. But boy was that hard. So will be starting another project.

Carve, carve, carve and then carve some more. Mix some instruction with your effort and you'll get hooked like the rest of us.
