Default Carving watermelon "Billy Bob" teeth

Had a really good time this week at our monthly "party day" where the kid's were enjoying everything from paddle-less canoe races to apple bobbing. As usual each summer I'm at the watermelon seed spitting station where I stay busy showing the kids how to make watermelon teeth that my own dad had taught me when I was a kid.

This is something so simple to do and always produces a LOT of fun for everyone. In all my life I've never met a kid who didn't want to ham it up with their own unique set of Billy Bob teeth and they're easy to learn how to carve!

The pictures are pretty much self explainatory but after finishing the melon clean the remaining red from the rind with a smooth slicing with your pocket knife slightly down into the whiteish area. Next, slice off about an eighth of an inch of the rind and cut out a couple of buck teeth leaving an inch or two off each side so that they will fit snuggly under the upper gum in front of your real teeth.

It takes a little practicing but after making a few sets you will begin to make improvements for better looking and better fitting teeth. With a little imagination you can produce some pretty good results!

So now, go find a kid and make their day!

Sorry that I had to "blur" some of the pictures due to hippa laws.

Why did you have to "BLUR" some of the pictures, due to hippa laws??

What do you mean by hippa laws?? I've never heard that term before

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
I'm thinking that possibly some of these kids are ill or disabled and therfore he is required to protect their identities for legal reasons.
