Default Carving A Simple Boy Scout Neckerchief Slide

I just posted a new entry on my Blog on how to carve a fairly simple Scout neckerchief slide. The first video gives some basic info on wood grain and how it affects getting the job done easily. Hopefully, some can find this helpful to those boys interested in obtaining their Woodcarving Merit Badge.

That looks like a nice, "do-able" neckerchief slide. I am interested because I've done quite a few myself. Here is a photo:

Hehehe! I've been using that arrowhead project for decades teaching woodcarving to the Scouts.....good one, Lynn. Anyone who uses this will do well.

another approach to this is to paint with either light gray or tan, then dry brus on either dark or light highlights. I may still have a sample around somewhere, but probably not. Gave mostof them away.

Many thanks to Lynn, Pallin and Al for the outstanding work they do with the Boy Scouts. I hope it continues.
