Yep, lots of good carving material.........acres of Diamond and red willow for canes and staffs, poplar....like a weed, birch, spruce, my apple and highbush cranberry trees have been victim to carving material gathering as well. It's been 20 years since I had a Lobster roll or a plate of clam strips and fries. I joined the army out of highschool, then quit that and joined the mounties where I've been to 3 differnt postings in BC and finally here in Sask for the past 3 years............next time you dive into a lobster roll, think of me would ya.

Will do Gilly! Have lunch at the Goodie Shop often, and they still have the best lobster roll in town! Good Island boy like me, lobster's a natural choice, and homemade fries made from PEI spuds.

Well Dave they arn't going to get much info from your mug shot, might be able to ID your hat. And all of this talk of Lobster rolls is just making me hungry, not giving me the urge to carve. That ship is a real beauty Bob.

When I was at my first posting, Port Hardy on the Northern most tip of Vancouver Isalnd, I would visit with the local Kwakiutl (kwa-geuth) carvers and watch them carve totems, paddles and all sorts of masks, boy was that an experience, some of those boys would fetch several thousand dollars for just one mask! I got a couple of handmade carving knives from one of them, a hook knife he made from a file blade and a long handled straight knife. When I left there the locals from Fort Rupert FN presented me with a traditional paddle and gave my wife a doll with a cedar bark apron and a button blanket shawl..................lotsa good memories from there.
