Default Carving Show in Dayton, OH

I live in central Ohio (Columbus) and anyway was wondering about a show that is tyically held out in Dayton at Hare Arena and was wondering if anyone had information about that show? I would really like to attend it if I knew the dates. Any information would be great.
Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy,
Welcome! I've moved your post out of the author questions area (all posts in that area need to be approved by a moderator) into the general carving area (where the posts do not need to be moderated.

Are you referring to the Artistry in Wood Show?

Hi Andy,

I,m also from Ohio and I finally got to go last year for the first time and it was awesome. It was everything everyone told me it would be. The best show I have ever been to. I look forward to going again this year.

I would love to be able to set up there some year. Don't think we will be able to this year but someday.

Hope you get to attend.

Blessings,
Tina aka teeburn

It's the best show in the U.S. I'll be there.

It's a great show! We've been there as visitors the past two years. It's a two-hour ride but well worth it. Mike

Lynn, one of our blessings in Ohio is the number of good, local carving shows we can visit or exhibit in each year. Some weekends, particularly in the fall, we have to chose which one to see. I didn't know when I started carving what a hot-bed Ohio is for wood carving. I can also make a couple of shows in PA in 3 hours, ditto Indiana and Michigan.

I was raised in Kansas City and have driven through Oklahoma and Texas several times. Most of us "northerners" don't know how big those states are until we hit them in a car. I lived in Connecticut for a couple of years and figured out you could put about 16 CT's in KS! If you're in the middle of CT and drive in any one direction for an hour, you're in another state. Do that in OK and you're at the end of your driveway! Mike

Bumping so I don't start a new thread about the same show.

Will the Dayton Carvers release information closer to the show about the vendors (tools and wood)? And, do they usually have the wood at the shows or do you order it?

Thanks!

There is generally a very good selection of wood for sale at the Dayton show. Lots of it all all sizes and all at good prices. And more tools to buy than my wife should ever hear about; or I might be in trouble. All in all a great show. Do not miss it!
