Carving Show 03/27-28

For all carvers located near our area, the Niagara Woodcarvers Association annual Spring show is March 27 & 28, being held in Niagara Falls, Ontario. You can view the site at www.niagarawoodcarvers.ca

I'm planning on attending again and have three pieces going in the competition, open to all do not need to be a member of the association. So if your in or near the area, think about attending or putting in a piece or two.

I am usually invited to do a demo I am not sure yet if I will be there or not. I will be in touch with the club and I will let you know if I am going to be there. I dont live that far away just about two or three hours so I may attend it will be a great chance to meet with you. As far as entering I am not sure yet I usually dont enter these shows.

...can someone help out the uninitiated here...what is a purchase award??? (does that mean the winner will be purchased at that price?) :-/

Rocket, Yes your are correct, at this show they always have several purchase awards. This year four of them, one being a 'Produce Clerk', so if a carver wants to take a shot at winning, they carve what the person is looking for, then those enteries are judged, the best one is the winner, you get the prize money and he keeps the carving. This years purchase awards offerings are for a Pharmasist, Produce Clerk, Eagle Bust, Carosel Horse....Take care Coffeeman
