Default Carving School

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever been to the carving school in Townsend TN? If so, what are your comments of it and do you recommend it? You can email me with a response if you would like.

Thanks
Steve

Hello Steve,
I attended a Jeff Phares class there last September and Mac has a first class facility there for carving. Mac and Beth Prophit are great hosts! I would love to go back there again some time. If you have never been to Townsend it is a beautiful place and close to Piegon Forge and Gatlinburg. I would recomend it to you.

Yes I attended a class with Harold Enlow, and the Proffits are very hospitiable.Their is a school on Memorial Day weekend at the 4h camp in Crossville that is very good depending on what you like to carve.Gary Falin and Wayne Shinlever teach caricatures and Vick Hood teaches woodspirits.

I've been to many classes at Smoky Mountain Woodcarvers and would highly recommend them. Go to their web site, pick your subject and instructor, and when you get there have a great time. I'll be over for two classes in June.

Unfortunately I have not been to any of the carving classes at Nawger Knob but it's not for lack of want... mostly I just can't schedule my trips to S.E. Tennessee to coincide with the classes that I want to attend. I do second GaryMC's thoughts on Mac and Beth...great folks. I really can't envision any endeavor that they would undertake that wouldn't be first class. I do know that they've hosted some great carvers! One of these days I hope that I'll make it.

Yes I've been to Pigeon Forge and Townsend many times and love it there. I've actually been to the wood carving shop but never attended a class. I've got one picked out in May that I think I'll go to. I just wanted to hear some feedback from someone who had been. Thanks
