Default carving a rose

I am carving a rose for my wife for valentines day. I did one years ago and this is my second. I find this a lot of fun and very rewarding. Some of you might want ot try it, it gets very thin and delicate, but its a challenge and great fun> Iwould post a picture when its done but I dont know how to post pictures here.

Rick, I have carved several roses in the past and am doing several for Valentine Day for a few roses in my family.

See if this tutorial on how to upload pictureswill help you. Picture size should be around 380x300 pixel.

wow several? I can only do just one, no time. Do u use power? I do it all with blades, finishing with a homemade knive made from a old straight razor, as its thinner. When I get it done, Ill try and post it.

Yeper, by knife also, Look in to the Holiday topic. The biggest was a 10 x 7 x 1 inch in 2006 for my mother in law and just the past couple of weeks, several 2 x 2 x 1/2 inch and just finished carving a 5 x 7 x 1/2 " one and have tow more blacks cut out to do before Valentine's Day. The little ones are pins and the bigger ones will be mounted in a shaldow box with backing.
