Default Carving Moldings, How To book(s)?

I am looking for a book or two on how to carve moldings.
I have the Fred Wilbur books on carving architectural designs. While they are great inspiration and rich with design info they are a little short on basic "How To" stuff.

I have both the Linda Irish book "Classic Carving Patterns" and the Kurt Koch book "Complete Guide to Architectural Carving" on order. Though I understand that the former is basically only patterns, the latter speaks of taking the reader through progressive excercises (just what I need).

Does anyone have personal recommendations for other step-by-step instruction books (or web sites) for carving moldings?

I found the Chris Pye WCI article on carving simple molding in the Holiday issue just my speed. ;-)

Thank you in advance,

RussL.

Hi Russ,
Chris has a few more moldings in his new book, Wood Carving\http://www.foxchapelpublishing.com/p...s.cfm?sku=3581

Egg and Dart and a few others. It's put together a little different from the magazine; the book is a compilation of articles from the British carving magazine.

Well I'll be darned! :-)
Thank's Bob.

I just bought a copy of the book (along with Chris' new DVD on ornamental carving) from the online store for 'Tools For Working with Wood' in Brooklyn, NY.

It may indeed be better to give than to receive, but there isn't much suffering in receiving either! ;-)

Wishing you all the best for the Holidays,

RussL.
