the best is Wood Carving Illustrated, plus all their back issues available, and I get the Scroll Saw Woodworking and Crafts for ideas. I get the Wood Carving from the UK, it is expensive but it has a classical look that I enjoy.

And if you want to carve birds, Wildfowl Carving is a great quarterly carving magazine. But, Woodcarving Illustrated can't be beat! Donna_T
