Smile Carving Knives from Rick

I just received two of the most beautiful carving knives I've ever seen! Their handles are apple, my favorite wood!
I needed a detail knife and a carving knife. I'd heard you Folks say such nice things about Rick's Knives, sharpening, and his business in general. So I asked him to build me a couple knives. He directed me to his pictures of knives he's made, had me pick out the handle styles I'd prefer, and select the blade styles. Then I got to choose from a great selection of wood for the handles. He emailed pictures of the exact pieces of wood! I sent hand measurements at his request to make the fit just right. Then when Rick was absolutely sure I was getting exactly what I wanted, he made these two gorgeous knives for me.
They're not only beautiful --apple is pretty wood -- but they fit my hand like they were custom made for it! He really surpassed my highest hopes with these knives!
AND they were so reasonably priced, it was like buying knives "off the shelf" from any other maker! For works of art! My only regret is that he didn't sign them! I'm going to suggest he start adding a trademark or signature to the back of the blades, maybe his website address.
I don't have a picture of them right this moment, but I'll try to add that later.
By the way, Rick, thank you very much! I'm happy with the knives, in case you couldn't tell!
Wade

Wade I have to agree with you completly Rick made me a knife not too long ago. I wish I could take all of my knifes now and sell them and have Rick make me more of his they are really the best in fact I use the one he made me most of the time. I have purchased many knifes off the shelf that were twice as expensive and were not 1/4 the quality of Ricks. Not only were they beautiful but wonderfully sharp. I find that doing business with Rick it the best so much so that I send him all of my tools from Canada for service. From now on I will never buy another knife unless I buy it from Rick.
Colin

I spent a half hour or so drooling on my keyboard the other day looking at Ricks knives. Though I have had a bit of success making my own knives and have both an old german straight razor and a 24 inch walnut 2X2 for the handle I am still considering ordering one of Ricks. Just have to talk the wife into letting me spend money on "another carving knife". Hey, I only have 6 now and I made 3 of them!!

Rick,
I got to use the knives yesterday and am thoroughly impressed with them! They even carve and feel great left handed!
Thanks again!

Thumbs up Re: Carving Knives from Rick

I too just bought a detail knife from Rick, this guy must be busyer than a one legged sailor at a tap dancing contest. did you know that besides running the woodcarving business he carves and works a full time job on the graveyard shift. with all of that he has time to get every detail ( by emailing you ) you want in a knife. very good guy to do business with. thank you Rick.
Rick you still need to sign these knives .

just old Jim
