Tell her to leave........ OK - I'm joking. A dust collector of some sort is about the only way around it. That could be a bit pricy. Another joking answer with a bit of truth -> use a knife/gouge instead. |

If your just using a dremel get a lap top dust collector, and one more thing, you make dust in the house just clean up after yourself, helps major. smile Di

My husband gets kind of upset when I use the dremel in the house, so I go out on the porch and use it, well most of the time! GRIN! He's not always home!

Hay, It's your house too, right! A portable dust collector is a good idea even in an open area, that dust can ruin your lungs and they can be hard to replace.

I might use a dust collector when doing some minor power detailing in the house, but would never do major power carving. Regardless of the strength of the dust collector, it still spreads wood dust in the surroundings. I have cup hooks just outside every one of the house doors we have that go outside (that have a power outlet nearby). If the weather is good (above freezing), I'll take one of my power carvers outside to the door that has the wind blowing away from my work, and do my roughing out there. I still use a mask--and even put a small fan on to help blow more dust away from me so that my eyes don't get so irritated, either. Even though I'm the only one who cleans house here, I'd never try to power carve in the house. Basement, maybe. Garage, sure. Donna_T
