Default Carving in Germany

This December, my wife and I plan to visit our son in Dusseldorf, Ger. We'll spend a week in the D'dorf area and anothe couple of weeks traveling by rail. My Q: what are some sights to see of interest to carvers? I'm aware that Dastra, 2 Cherries, and Soligen tools are produced in factories located near D'dorf. I'd really appreciate any suggestions you have.

Dr. Joe

Germany has LOTS of sites of carving interest. Many gift type shops carry excellent carvings.

Here's a link to one shop:

Dr Joe,
There is an international woodcarving museum that was profiled in a few issues of the British magazine Wood Carving. It is called the Daetz Centrum and it is located in the Saxony region of Germany. Check this url for additional information:

Dr Joe,
I looked closer at the url I previously sent and it included a url to the museum home page.

http://www.daetz-centrum.de/index.html

When the webpage loads you can check to view the page in English.
