I am working on a life size figure in walnut that will be the base of a coffee table. Its a male sleeping and all twisted up like on one of the tombs in the vatican by Michangelo. I should have done a female but I wanted a bunch of bulging muscles obscuring the shape. Any way I am having trouble with the feet. If I measure out my foot and carve it then it looks too big and ugly. Do you just put a prettty femine foot on him? I will send along pictures tomorrow.

Your project sounds like a great idea, one quick suggestion...if your feet are too big try 'scaling' down the picture in your scanner a bit, or use a copier at your local library to do it, that way you'll have the size you need plus a pic to use for a reference for the musculature aspects too. Just a thought... Look forward to seeing your pics! I enjoy viewing your work. Jim |
