It is a Sharp Shinned Hawk not a coopers. Good customer of mine passed away recently, and this was one of his collection.

Hugh, it's beautiful and I do hope that the reserve is much higher then the bid that I saw as it is well worth it.

Thought the same thing Susan. But I am sure of one thing it will be.

Hugh. Awesome work, sorry to hear of the customer, but are they planning on clearing the estate through E - bay. And if so , I assume there will other pieces like this.

Oh Honey ! How about a third morgage on the house .....

I really don't know much about the person selling the hawk. He did e-mail me and asked for their original prices. Wanted to know what species of birds they were, and I gave him the wrong information on the Sharp Shinned hawk. He said that he has three, I remember another one is a Ruffed Grouse. I would think disposing of them on Ebay would depend on the price the Hawk goes for. Thanks for the very nice compliments.

The Ebay ad said 5 yrs, but I think it was more like 8 yrs. I should keep better records. Thanks

Wow Hugh, that bird is gorgeous! You must find it strange when your collectors pass away and your work shows up at auction? Your work is becoming quite collectable and I keep hearing of your name over here on this side of the province............. "Do you know that guy who carves those great birds over by St, George?" "Hugh Parks, ya, WOW, his stuff is fantastic".......end of quotes.
