Default Carving in the Camper

Decided a break was timely and decided to share my fun of carving at my winter home, in a camper, and practice sending pictures with a recently purchased camera. Hope you don't mind. Carving Shawn Cipa Unicorn as you can see. It's very small area but enough to enjoy.

I usually take a chair out under the awning and carve away....lol California has a woodcaRVing club, they take a 2 or 3 day trip somewhere and everyone sits around and carves, kind of like good sams campouts but with carving...would love it if they had one here!

Looks like a nice set up Bob. Now you do clean up after yourself and not make Maurlene do it eh? Just kidding,I know you do. Looks pretty good to me. What camera did you get?

KennyS,
She has always been nice to overlook several if not all hobbies I've been involved in over the years. Including working on my motocross motorcycle in the living room. Of course I protected everything the right way. She's been alright, alright. And you're right, I clean it up. Wouldn't do it any other way. She might miss something.

I bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7. All that means is it's digital of course with 12X zoom, 6mg. It's proving to be a good camera for the money. Would like to have had a Nikon but........oh well. I'm very happy to have my wood tools to play.

Hi Ho Silver,
Are you a full timer? It is a lot of fun to carve while laughing and scratching with fellow carvers. We have about 20 carvers here at at the RV park. Some grinder guys and carvers. A couple of officers from the Woodcarvers Congress. So it's fun to work with them and the others as I'm a realatively unexperienced carver. Done other types of carving but not wood.

I love to carve when camping. We have decided to go seasonal this year because I get so much carving done. I built a nice bench that I will keep at the camper. You can see on my pitcure trail sight under work shop.

Looks like your all set up. It is nice to get away camping where you haven't anything else to do but carve. Looks like a nice setup. I would need a recliner model.

Nice set up and nice camera. I have the FZ30 one and love it. A great improvement over the old Kodak 6490 that I had.

Xsailer, that's a pretty neat set up! Hubby and I are playing around with the idea of getting a camper. He's just thinking about it, I'm convinced it would be the way to go.....literally!!

Especially because I can do just what you are doing, carve!! We can travel, see whatever we want and instead of wasting time (and money) in hotels, I can be carving in my own little home away from home.....sounds awfully nice to me!! Four years till retirement...we can't wait!!

He's thinking about getting a 30' pull behind trailer, that way we can park it and go off in our car....I sure would be interested in anyone's thoughts on what they like. It will help us make a better descision when we're ready to buy!!

For buying now, I'm really, really interested in the tool holder shown in your picture Xsailer, where did you get it?? It looks like exactly what I need. I'm hoping it's not some clever thing you made and I can buy one just like it!

Looks like you have a good start on that carving and your travel home looks really good too!! Thanks for sharing both with us! Deborah

It's been almost to cold to carve here Bob. We still have ice on the ground and they are calling for more snow the next three days. Lou's got cabin fever real bad me too. Hope you are having good weather there.
