Default carving bench design

Hi i've been looking for a carving bench design. Basically a padded bench you'd sit stride and face an adjustable carving table. Ive made a crude drawing of what im looking.
If anyone has seen something similar id be grateful for any help.

Do a search on past WCI issues. If I'm not mistaken, they had a carving bench or horse in a past magazine.

I used this vise (Portable Poor Man's Carving Vise - by mpounders @ LumberJocks.com ~ woodworking community ) that I built from WCI plans and mounted it to a board that I used sitting in a chair and with it clamped to a bench that i was sitting astride. It would be real easy to screw a work surface to the top and you would have something that would tilt and turn easily.

Mike, I saw your bench in action at the War Eagle Seminars this last September. Looked like it worked real well for you. I have another carving friend that built a simular one, his worked real well too. He put a cushion on top of the 2x6 he sat on to cushion the board.

Thanks Mike ! its a lot more portable than the type of thing i was thinking about..and a lot more versitile too! i could easily put a board or work surface on top when not carving in the round. I've just found this vice available locally for £20, (about $32), the T-joint, flanges, bar and eyelet would probably cost me that. it's a Record Power RPCV130 Carvers Vice. i can attach it to a board like you've done and away to go. thanks for the idea...probably saved my pocket a few pounds and my back hours of hurt !!
