I stopped in the first morning on my way through to visit my daughter.... to buy wood. I came last year as well while passing through but haven't taken any classes as we are traveling to see family. There were a lot of people there for classes, and some great selections of tools, accessories, and especially wood. I bought $40 worth of wood, and it is a tremendous amount given that the prices are so low. I got a lot of 2x2x8 inch blocks for a quarter to 50 cents for slightly longer ones, several boards of a inch to 5/4 thickness, and lots of other sizes as well. I estimate that if I bought the same amount of wood on line and paid shipping it would easily have been $200 or more. If you ever get to go to carvfest, be sure and purchase wood from John Kranz, he is a really nice guy...he even help us carry my wood to the car as my hands were occupied by the two canes I need to walk.
