Default :Carved Walnuts:

Saw a post here about slicing a Walnut? You can slice one in alot of ways, alot of ole timers did making buttons from them. You can make alot of things from Walnuts. Thought Id try carving one this morning.

Had some old walnuts that Id been saving to carve and today I tried. Heres a bear and a pig.
I had applied oil on the bear but the pig,I will apply some on it in a min.

Hope you like em.

Thanks for ckn them out plus your thoughts are always welcome.

Forrest

P.S No matter how or what I carve a pig out of,they always want to do tricks like this one rolling a walnut!! Boys shes smart. Her name is Bert!

Hey ole buddy,
Walnuts are suppose to be for eatin' but now I can see they're for carvin' too, great job on these little critters. Bert's doing a good job rollin' around on that nut. All I can say is its a good thing you carve small stuff or you'd be out of room in no time as fast as you're carvin'.

LOL Dan,Scared me about the eye test,so now Im carving like a mad man with a knive. Carved alot of crazy items in crazy things. Only problem with a walnut its like a peach pit/seed You keep cuting into areas wheres theres holes & gaps. You have to plan your carving around them.

Gald you like old Bert too, shes a smart pig.

Thanks my ole friend for your neat thoughts here.

Forrest

Alex I will tell you the truth, just a knive wont get the job done! I use files alot also. They are harder than peach pits/seeds.Adding the hair on the pig and bear wasnt too bad course I had a smoother area to do so once I carved past all the rough outside bark type on the shell. Gald you liked them Alex, thanks for your thoughts here.
