Default :Carved Sock Monkey:

Yesterday while resting from a rough wk end helping my wife totally clean and rearange seemed everything in the house, carved something simple to just feel some wood in my hands.

I never had a sock monkey as child but everyone of my grandchildren when they was born,I bought them one. They said, theres a child in us all? Must be right but I like my toys carved in wood.

My wife wore this pin to work this morning.

Hes carved out of bass wood and I did have to add his tail on plus the pin on the back.Painted with acrylics. His eyes are small wooden dowl pins carved down then painted like buttons. One thing about my life and carving? Its never dull in my mind but my brain is.lol

Thanks for your thoughts or comments alway.

Forrest

Forrest, I never had a sock monkey as a child, and remember having "sock-monkey-envy" when I visited other homes that had one. My kids had a sock monkey, but they were never as thrilled with it as I was.
The paint you put on it is so perfect. He really looks like a sock monkey.
Another wonderful bit of your imagination carved from wood, and I am glad to have seen it.

Forrest, You must use a knife made from a darning needle to carve that small. Great job. Love it. Al
