WOW, how nice! Do you use a magnifier when carving? I'm not so sure that I'd be able to get the same results.....what particular power carving machine do you use?

I've seen some others like yours, that were carved by hobos, back in the 1930s....being as how they didn't have power carvers, I can't imagine how one could do this with only a knife.

Dull Knive, only power I use is mini files and my home made tools I've made from some old antq cobber tools plus a whole lot of sanding!!

Seen my father carve them with a knive, course they carved alot of the baskets and monkeys back then from peach seeds. Heres a few more I carved last year. Thanks for your good input here.
Forrest

P.S I wear glasses,only.

Yikes Forrest, I tried that once. Like tryin to carve a rock. Course, I didn't know any better, and used an ol' pocket knife. Yep it broke. I did salvage the peach pit though. Somebody then asked if if I had ever carved a peach pit. To that I answered, "sure"! They then asked what I carved, and I answered, "Why a rabbits brain, of course" I showed them, and all they said was, "Oh"!

Your usual great job Forrest. Thanks for your continual inspiration.

Wow Forrest I've never seen anything like that before! I was looking at the 4th picture and it was like one of those strange pictures you used to look at and see nothing then suddenly figures and objects would appear! Must be the grooves inthe stone that throw you initially! If you want some more Peach stones I'll eat the fleshy bit for you.... save you the trouble ol' friend!
