Default Carve-Fest 2007 pictures

Hi. This past weekend I attended Carve-Fest in Faribault, MN. It was a long drive for me, but it was worth it just to see some of the carvings by some really good carvers such as Marv Kaisersatt, Floyd Rhadigan, Ivan Whillock, Rick Jensen, Harley & Midge Schmitgen, Ol' Don Burgdorf, Pat Moore, Joe Dillett, Donna Menke, Everett Ellenwood, Chris Howard, Loren Woodard, Gen Jansen, etc. Teri Embrey was supposed to be there, but for some reason she couldn't make it (I hope everything is ok with her). I had asked if I could take pictures and they said sure. One carver had a sign that said "No Photos" so obviously I didn't take any of his. Enjoy!

Thank you for sharing the pictures with us. If you have more, I would like to see more and more and more. I had planned on being there but company got in the way so had to cancel. Better planning is needed for next year for sure.
Thanks
Gene

I was able to make to Faribault on Sat. I too was hoping to see some of Teri Embreys works. I was there their first year and she had some carvings there. I was able to see Marvs dragon incomplete awhile back at Blue Earth Minn. and it was a treat to see it in its completed stage.
Sat in a sharpening demo and an eye carving demo. Both well presented. Sorry I dont have the names of the instructors with me here. Wish I did because they did a great job.
It was a good show.

Hi Chipper -

Thanks so much for sending those Carve-Fest photos. I'm really sorry I couldn't be there this year, but health issues made it impossible for me to cross the country as many times as I had planned. I'm fine - just need new legs....well, knees, actually...mine have gotten much worse this year and it seems I no longer have a choice but to get the replacements. Just sitting in the car trying to drive back here to Seattle last month really killed my legs. Same with sitting at my carving bench.

I feel very bad that I couldn't make it, but I will say that Chris Whillock was so very gracious about it. I'm sorry for any inconvenience or disappointments I caused. I was pretty disappointed myself - I really wanted to finally make it to Fairibault.

Teri

Wink Re: Carve-Fest 2007 pictures

Teri,

I'm sorry to hear about your knees. I hope everything goes well in getting replacements. I have a sister who is only 43 yrs. old and she is going to need a knee replacement sooner than the doctors wanted to I guess. Carve-Fest was good execpt for the heat on Saturday. It was just miserably hot. Sunday was a lot better though. Maybe next year you will be able to attend. Take care,
