Default How to carve a DragonFly

Hi,
Has anyone on this forum carved a dragonfly? I would love to find a pattern for one, I am a very new carver and need a pattern. I see in #9 issue of Carving Magazine has a dragonfly pin. I would guess as a pin it must be 2 dimensional. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi foamer,

Check out Milo Creek Carvings website. Tom just joined today and he's got some great dragonflies. Perhaps he can help you with a pattern.

Hi
I get a lot of my paterns by visiting the local library.I find a few good photos of the subject I want take it to the photo copier and make a few copies in diferent sizes. When I get home I trace the outline on tracing paper wich I use with carbon paper to transfer it to the wood. Then you have the photos as a guid. I will even trace some of the background from the photos and move them around as they are in scale with the subject.
Hope this helps.
