Hi Jim, that was Gary Falin's article in WCI 25 and he painted the football player caricature in WCI 26. Maybe if you looked at Steve Prescott's book "Carving Blockheads" , one is a football player, it would provide you with a pattern for a caricature and by just changing the colour combinations to match the NFL teams each son supports would provide 4 different caricatures or just different numbers or home and away sweater colour combinations if they all support the same team , it would at least ensure everyone got the same quality gift.Smile. Then no one can say Daddy loves me better that you, ahh peace and harmony on christmas day.Smile Just added a scan of the books cover, it's a Fox Chapel so I guess it's ok.Smile. Cheers. The CCA web site has pictures of different carvings by it's members under their profiles. Tom Brown has a caricature football player there. It's not a pattern, but it may give you some ideas.

I will try to post the picture here to make it a little easier. This is a caricature football player carved by Tom Brown from the CCA web site.
