Default card protecter

Hey everyone,
A poker playing friend of mine asked me to make her a card protector. I used leopardwood and relief carved her initial with my dremel. I finished it with tung oil (imagine that...lol). I figured it will be handled and used a lot, so I left the edges fairly square and didn't go too deep on the initial. I was going to put a heart on the other side, but didn't want to **** off the spousal unit! Thanks for looking and feel free to critque it (I have thick skin!)

Thanks, I have to step lightly...my spousal unit bites LOL! I guess making 2 would be the way to go, altho I am thinking of other projects.
Hi Ron...A card protector is used for texas holdem poker. You get 2 cards face down and if you want to play you stick something on top of them to keep them from getting mixed up with chips/other cards/etc.

Hey RZ,
I carved a humming bird out of that wood. The grain in the wood looks just like feathers. If you have a bit more give it a shot. I think I got the pattern out of a book called "stialized wood carving". (dang I know that's misspelled). The wood carves well with power tools.

Very nice, I use leopard wood alot with my turnings a pleasent wood to work. But remember to wear a respirator, the dust from it can cause reactions in some people.

Thanks all...it is lovely wood, but a pain to work with. Right now all I have is thin wood, 1/4 inch thick, a few chunks around 1/2. I'm searching of something thicker so I can try some 3d action. It should be interesting.
