Default Captain Salty

Hi folks; .........Meet Capt. Salty. Just finished him last night and thought I'd introduce to him to the forum. He's 6" tall and carved from basswood. I used the pattern supplied by Beiderman and Johnston in their book "The Beginners Handbook of Woodcarving"
Thanks for looking;

Thanks all for your comments. I'm just beginning my next carving, but don't seem to get much done................by the way who's idea was it to only have 24 hrs. in a day?
For my next project I'm attempting to follow Gene Messer's tutorial on "Carving a simple small figure from a block of wood". One thing is for sure I'm getting plenty of exersise, my computer is up stairs in the diningroom and I do my carving in the basement, so I come up and study the tutorial then dash back to the basement to apply what Gene has shown. Who says carving is relaxing :-)
