Do any of you know where I can get a pattern book of cane handles? Also, I drive 35 miles each Tues. AM to attend my carving club. With fuel prices what they are I am wondering how one goes about starting a new carving club. I really enjoy my current club and the people who make it up, but the travel is getting a bit pricey. I also enjoy our annual shows. Great experience for both us carvers and for the public who attend. |

Virwil... There are a couple of earlier threads on starting a club that you can research. There's some pro's and con's that you need to think about. For now you might just try to find a buddy that lives close by and get together at each other's homes two or three times a month and then drive to the club once a month making it a special trip. I'd reommend keeping the association informal until you get all your ducks in a row!
