Default Can't stand a carving glove? Try this.

I can't stand a carving glove but wanted something to help provide a good grip and also keep my carving relatively clean. Tried cloth gloves, but chips stuck to them and ended up all over the place. Finally got around to trying a golf glove. Works great. Good grip, clean carving and no stuck chips. Also provides a lot of protection because at the cost of a good one I'm very careful not to cut it. Protection is actually minimal, might save you from a nick or two but that;'s about it.

I finially bought a carving glove. Best investment I made. To bad my friend who started carving did not have one carving a piece of walnut. I sharpend hid tools and sent him home. Later that evening, he called me up and asked me to come over. I thought it was strange as he is a misister and should have been out Sunday evening church. Anyway, When I arrived, there was blood all over the sidewalk and more on the steps. When I ranged the door bell and he answered,'Come in'. he was setting with his left hand all bandaged. I started laughing as I thought it a joke. Well 21 stitches in thumb and plam, I was a wishing he had a glove. To this day, he does not have feeling in his index or middle fingure.

Grand Ed, I have only nicked myself a couple of times but thought I couldn't go wrong with a glove. After alll, I needed a fix and buying a carving glove and a couple other carving items, took care of the DTs. :

Glad you decided you needed a little protection.

Have a nice and safe holiday.

Ken
