I'm in the process of carving a caricature of a Marine Drill sargent and his dim witted recruit. What I want to know is, what stripes does the sarg wear on his left arm????? thankx too much.
there is a photo of several marines in dress blues.
look for the marines with three stripes and a small
cross rifle underneath. those with two stripes and
a cross rifle are corporals
I think 3 stripes! Course I was too scare to look at anything about my DI but his eyes when I was in Paris Island. Yes Kenny,Marines never die but just fight to the finish!! Forrest

..while I was not a bulldog (flyboy instead) the answer to this one is easy. Just do a Google image search on "Gomer Pyle" and both he and SGT Carter will appear!
...hope this helps...
