Default butternut bowl

I haven't seen any bowl carvings here so I wasn't sure where to put this. Don't know if there's much interest in this. It's a fairly simple bowl carved from butternut.

Hi Nomad,

That's a great tutorial you've posted for anyone interested in carving a bowl. The wood grain is so very beautiful. Very nice job. Thanks for poisting.

Butternut is a great wood to carve. As shown in your spectacular bowl, the grain of butternut really stands out when a clear finish is used. Also as the others have stated your pictorial give a clear method for bowl carving. Good job and than you for sharing.

A very lovely piece; in design, instruction and execution.
Thank you for taking the time to take the photographs and share all the details of it's construction.
It's inspirational.
I believe I have a piece of butternut that might lend itself to such a bowl.

...I think I'll go see if I can find it. :-)

Thank you, again. It's a beautiful bowl.

Thanks one and all for the generous comments! I'm glad to hear there is an interest in bowl carving. I would like to do more of it but it does take some time. I hope some folks will find this useful though. There are other ways to get the job done, this is just the way I did this one. I have a couple nice adzes and I'd like to try my hand at carving some larger bowls out of green wood.

Thanks again everyone!
