Default Butterfly Kachina

I stumbled on a photo of a Butterfly Kachina on the internet and it inspired me to carve one. I thought it was interesting that the arms were wrapped in the cloak. So if your curious to why she has no arms it was based on the picture I saw which also had no arm.

Sorry to say as Kenny S puts it the Lil Bride already laid claim on this one.

Mel, your Butterfly Kachina is wonderful! I like the colors you used and looks like you got the wings nice and thin. It's so beautifully delicate and tiny I don't blame your little bride for wanting it for herself. I'm curious did you use a skew woodburning tool to make the furrows in the hair. Great job of painting everything.

Mel, I really like her, you did a great job! I love how tiny she is! I don't doubt a bit the little bride claimed her, quickly too, and I bet she wants more! Definitely looks like the start of a collection to me! Thanks for sharing her with us! Deborah

Yes Kathy I did use a woodburning tool, but it was the small spear point. I like it because you can do some real fine details with it.

I really enjoyed doing this one, the only thing I didn't like is the crooked wings, I may have to redo them.
Thanks again for the compliments.
