Default Butter Knife ?

I've seen a blade called the "butter" knife. Does anyone use this or know what it's for?

I've got one. It's basically a straight edge knife with a sharp rounded over tip. Just like a butter knife with a sharp edge that extends around the point. It's handy for getting into some crevaces and good for cleanup. You can use it like a bullnose in some situations. It's not a bad tool. I don't use it often but it's nice to have. I haven't tried it on toast yet...

Mine is a Drake butter knife, and it is sharp, sharp, I love the sharp round top, it is one of those knifes that I consider top of the line. It sharpen well, and then seems to stay that way.

Deepwoods Ventures does a butter knife. I just got their online catalog this week. It looked interesting. See: Carving Tools - Deepwoods Ventures

Disclaimer: I'm not associated with Deepwoods or any other carving supplier. But if someone wants to send me a knife for a test drive, I'm easily influenced!
