Default Buffalo Warrior Two Decades Later

A little over 20 years ago I purchased this roughout from Kansas woodcarver, Stu Martin, and I have just now gotten around to carving my rendition of Buffalo Warrior. Does anyone know who did the original?

WOW Millard, I don't know how did the original, but I'll bet it's not as good as yours. Fantastic piece of ART. Merle

I can't help you on the carver ID but I agree with Merle....you have created a work of art from this one.

Great carving Millard.
Don't know who done the original.
I can tell it's your carving by looking at the eyes.

Millard - that's one gorgeous carving. The hair, the eyes and the face came out amazing. You are at the top of your game - play on!

It's a nice design and I hope you find out who originated it. You did a great job on it as you always do.

Millard, The mouth/ chin/ eyes are so realistic,--- its unreal. You've once again out-did yourself and become the envy of me for sure. To me, this is exactly the way a native american should look carved. Tremendous job in your creating this fellow.

Millard, that is fabulous! I am overwhelmed by the realism you achieved in this carving....he looks human! It's wonderful! Bonnie

Millard, That is another great carving. I would guess that Stu did the original himself, and then farmed out the roughouts. It is probably a good thing you waited. Your are probably a much better carver now. He definitely has the Millard eyes. Wonderful job.

Tom
