Default BUD ODELL

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON A WOODCARVER BY THE NAME OF BUD ODELL WHO LIVED AND WORKED IN TESUQUE, NEW MEXICO. I UNDERSTAND HE DIED LAST YEAR BUT HAVE NO OTHER INFORMATION. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A PAIR OF NAVAJO CARICATURE CARVINGS AND WOULD LOVE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE CARVER. THANKS!!

I live in New Mexico, I know that there is a Tesuque Pueblo in that area. Also were they Kachina dolls that he carved? In New Mexico most of the Navajos carve Kachinas dolls. I myself like the Hopi style of Kachinas, they don't use feathers on most of their carvings anymore and are more detailed.

Get in contact with Will Hayden (CCA) ; he knew Bud.

All I know is that Bud carved with Andy Anderson (The first American caricature carver to write a book on the subject).
I was told that Bud inherited Andy's tools when he died.
