Default Buck Mtn Man

This Buck mtn man is from the higher mtns where not alot of people have even been too. Course its really not all that safe to be up there if you wasnt born there.

Hes 4 X 13 inches and ONLY stained.......no paint was used. I left this old pine board like I found it. Theres a few holes and a larger one on his right cheek, made a nice mole, his eyes are holes with a dark stain in them.

A quick project this morning. Your thoughts or comments are more than welcome. Thks' Tn~

Hey Forrest, do you ever take time out to sleep? Dang, you keep commin up with carvins faster'n I can sharpen my tools. Yer gonna have to get a bigger house or a barn or somethin to keep them all in. I will say one thing tho, they're all great, I sure would love to live close enough to eyeball them all in person, keep 'em commin buddy. By the way, I carved me a hand and a hat today for my golfer.

I'm gonna try and stay off of Buck mountain until it's safe but if I were to find myself wandering up that-a-ways, then that's the sorta fella that I'd hope to run into... unless he's part of one of those rattlesnake handling backwoods churches!!

Nice job!

Hi Forrest.

You turn out so much work it's unbelievable! Makes me feel like one pokey carver. I love the way you make the eyes on your characters look so expressive - you've got real talent there, man!

Keep 'em coming, and good luck w/ your show next month. Hope you post lots of pix!

-Mark

Dave Brock, one side of Buck Mtn is in Tn and the other part is in NC. My wife while growing up in this area was told by her family and always knew,Dont go into Buck Mtn,I think it was the people there that scared people way for alot of them made moon shine. But too this day,its still pretty crude there and alot of the people are also.

I enjoy all the places my wife has taken me too since Ive moved here, some are places no one has been too since her grandfather took her there as a young girl.I only wish my health would allow me to climb and hike in some of the beautifull area here.

Thanks Dave for stopping by to view this Buck Mtn man.
P.S. Your chain saw bears are NEAT!!Keep up the good work.

Forrest
