Default Branching Out or Going Out on a Limb!

Had a long visit with Peter Engler in Branson yesterday and from today my carvings will also be offered through his Woodcarving Gallery in the Grand Village. As most of you are aware, I have always strived to create characters that are humerous yet still respectful enough that they don't have to be hidden away when the Pastor brings his wife over for dinner. I have a saying on my website that "A Cowboy's life is tough enough without having a bunch of cityslickers making fun of them!!" Peter noted that right off and that made me feel real good. So.....we'll see what happens.

Also, after having such a positive response to my advert in True West magazine last month will have another one in the October issue. Those adds are not cheap but the saying that "It pays to advertise!" is certainly true. However, with the price of gas now it is really cheaper to take out an add in a national publication than it is to pack up and strike out for a show somewhere. Some day I hope to have one in Cowboys & Indians magazine but as their cheapest adds run over $1000 it will be a while yet.

Lynn,

Great to hear your getting some national attention, and your getting out there to them big dollar folks at Branson,
truly hope your endeavors pay out,

but please keep them pictures posted on your new carvings, tools and methods,
It makes a lot of our days just to log on and see what trouble there is brewing up on Lynn's carving bench, or what concoction's hes slurring up for a base layout medium.... with his carvings, you are definitely an inspiration to most of us,
heres to the hopes of your prosperity and you don't tire in teaching a bunch of us knot heads for a long time.

thanks again!

Thumbs up Re: Branching Out or Going Out on a Limb!

Lynn .. That is one great carving shop .. I remember when it started at the Engler Block and is now in the Grand Village ... Talk about exposure to your work .. Thousands of people visit that shop every year ..

It is by far .. the best carving shop I think in the U. S. ... They have all the professional carvers work in there ... Sears , Enlow , Prescott. Shipley ... All first class work .. That huge mountain man they have at the entrance is remarkable to see..

I have met Mr. Engler several times and he is a fine fellow .. a very nice man who is willing to share with you the art .. and a great Santa carver ..

Good luck on your showing's and I know your work will definately do well .. The exposure is unbelievable ..

I will be going in September with a friend and we will look for your work ..

God Bless

Gene
