Default Book Question

Hi Folks,

I was thinking about buying a book by Paul N. Hasluck, " Manual of Traditional Woodcarving". Does anyone else have this book and would it be a good addition to my woodworking library?

Thanks, Mike G. in SC

Sorry Mike I am not fimilar with that book, I was looking at Evertt Ellenwoods book Amazon.com: The Complete Book of Woodcarving: Everything You Need to Know to Master the Craft (9781565232921): Everett Ellenwood: Books, great book packed with so much info.! A little pricey

Dave

Hi Dave,

The book I'm looking at has 598 pages and was published in 1977. Amazon.com: Used and New: Manual of Traditional Wood Carving

I guess I should just buy it. Any book that increases knowledge of one's craft can't be a bad thing can it?

I have the book, it is a thick book, 568 pages...lots of information and I do pull it out to look at every once in while. I would say this book is more for the craftsman who wants to know about the past wood carving on furniture, chest, seats beds with low and high relief work. I collect books, and this one is not junk, lots of information even to point of making carver tool box. note it is a republication of Cassel's Wood Carving published in 1911. Di

Hi Di,

Thanks for the info. I also collect books pertaining to woodworking, carpentry and wood carving. I also collect and use antique and vintage woodworking tools.

Well I just "pulled the trigger". I'll have the book in a few days. I actually saw the book on Ebay while looking for something else. Funny how that works. Did a search on Amazon and found it.
